Road Trip to Krangsuri, How to Reach, Phi Phi Falls Visit, Meghalaya

Krangsuri and Phi Phi falls in Meghalaya is the most remote and beautiful waterfall in entire Meghalaya as per my opinion. But Krangsuri is more popular and visited and liked by travelers due to its spectacular scenery. Both of the waterfall is situated in the West jaintia Hills in Meghalaya near Umlārem. Krangsuri is 5.8 km away from Umlārem.

Road trip with friends on bike was the most desired wish I have ever had. But due to sufficient time and lack of opportunity it was just a dream. But in the month of June, 2019 I have decided to effectuate my road trip fantasy. It was 2nd Saturday and my office was closed and I decided to visit Krangsuri  & Phi Phi falls  the beautiful water fall with mesmerizing views with one of my best friend partha. We had started our journey on bike in the early morning after having breakfast. From Guwahati it was around 185 km  to reach our destination. We had drove around 65 km and the whether becomes rainy. We had to stopped  near a roadside stall and wear our raincoats. As we brought raincoat with us and likely to be expected the rain during our journey. And in hilly areas it is usual to experience rain even the whether is sunny. Driving along the U shaped curvy road during rain was become quit minacious. But the tremendous nature of Meghalaya never let you down of your expectation.

It was almost 3 hour drive and we started starving. We had decided to have some foods in a restaurant namely Cabana Serene Restaurant and Guest House, location is Shillong Bypass Rd, Umdohbyrthih, Meghalaya 793105.

The location of the restaurant was amazing with a stunning swimming pool a few steps away from the restaurant. We had some coffee and delicious pork fried rice and the taste was just unforgettable. After refueling our tummy. After 2 hours of drive we were just few km away from our destination. We were stopped in Paradise Adventure Camp in Jarain, Meghalaya where we planned to stay overnight. The distance between Paradise Adventure Camp and Krangsuri is just a couple of km. Paradise Adventure Camp is a most recommended lodging facility nearby Krangsuri that offers tent stay, bamboo huts to stay, bonfire at night, kayaking in the river, Phi Phi falls guided tour at a reasonable price and amazing view.

At that time in June, 2019 the price of A Tent is just 500 and bamboo huts were just 1000 per night with two person occupancy. The staff and owner of Paradise Adventure Camp is very helpful and supportive.

After having almost half our of rest we were headed to the Krangsuri water fall. In Krangsuri waterfall you also can stay there in tent.we preferred to stay at Paradise Adventure Camp. To reach Krangsuri water fall you have to cover more than 500 downstairs. But you will definitely forgot all the struggle after reaching the water fall as the view of the falls amaze your soul thats all I can assure you.The view of the waterfall was just outstanding. few of the caption I am sharing in the blog.

You can rent a life jacket  to swim in the waterfall b y paying less that 100 depending on the time of your visit. After enjoying & swimming more than 2 hour in the waterfall we felt hunger. And decided to have lunch at the only canteen near the waterfall. Food quality at the canteen is quit good and you cannot expect variety in such a remote location. Pork Thali was cost around 150 per Thali with a number of items. After having lunch and clicking few picture of the waterfall we decided to head back to Paradise Adventure Camp as both of us felt very tired.

After getting some rest in out tent at the evening we enjoyed kayaking at the river next to the camp. I had experience kayaking for the very first time in my life. At night the staff of Paradise Camp arrange bonfire on our request to feel the adventure of staying in such a distinctive destination. After having dinner we went to sleep early as we endeavor the whole day to feel the adventure thrill.

Next day morning after having breakfast we went to Phi Phi falls. To reach the Phi Phi falls you have to trek around 2.5 km in the jungle from the paradise camp without a guide it will not going to happen. And the trekking was very exiting with the fellow travelers. You can take the view of the waterfall from the mountain but if you want to swim and you definitely need to step down to the bottom of the falls. The height of the fall could be around more than 100 ft. I guess. Few of the caption from the waterfall shared in the blog.

After enjoying, swimming a long hour we were back to our camp and resting some time having some foods we started our journey back to Guwahati with unforgettable memories.  I will definitely visit again that happy hunting ground.
