Tea Tourism In Assam

Hello guys,
In this post I will share with you about the remaining part of tourism attraction of Assam, North-East, India as I promise in my last post.
Assam is the largest producer of Tea and export tea to the various part of the world. Assam has been synonymous with tea ever since Briton Robert Bruce claims to have discovered it in 1823, though the Singpho tribal people living in areas stranding Assam and Arunachal Pradesh cultivated and drank tea as herbal rejuvenator for ages. With more than 800 major and 60000 small estates spread across 300000 hectares, Assam has the world largest concentration of tea plantations and employs 17% of the states workforce. Assam tea accounts for 55% of India’s total tea production and 80% of the country’s export.
As unique as it sounds, the concept of tea tourism in Assam has opened the doors for tourists to relish the unusual, yet revitalizing experience of staying in the heritage bungalows amidst the lush, aromatic tea gardens and watching the laborers synchronously plucking leaves and working in the tea plantations. These holiday packages are offered inclusive of accommodation, meals and related activities, surely at a decent cost.

The best time to plan for a tea tour to Assam is during the monsoons, that is, from June to September. On an average, single accommodation in such heritage bungalows will cost around R 3,000 per night, while for double sharing the charges are around 7,000 per night stay.

Following are some of the highlights of perks that a tea tour has to offer:

Staying in the elegant heritage bungalows with impeccably done colonial interiors. Tea tasting tours where you get to taste different grades and varieties of tea in Assam. Visit to tea factories to learn more about the processes involved. Visit to Tocklai Tea. Research Institute in Jorhat, the oldest and largest tea research stations in the world. Visit to the Guwahati Tea Auction Center.

Learn and enjoy plucking best of tea leaves in the surrounding plantations. Some even organize activities like fishing, river rafting, boat rides in the mighty Brahmaputra river, golfing, horse riding, spa and other activities. You might even get to enjoy elephant treks amongst the beautiful greens of Assam! Visiting surrounding villages and interacting with the local people, experiencing their culture and feasting upon some of the ethnic cuisines they have to offer. Plan your trip in November to experience the unique Assam Tea Festival held in the district of Johrat.

Road Trip to Krangsuri, How to Reach, Phi Phi Falls Visit, Meghalaya

Krangsuri and Phi Phi falls in Meghalaya is the most remote and beautiful waterfall in entire Meghalaya as per my opinion. But Krangsuri is more popular and visited and liked by travelers due to its spectacular scenery. Both of the waterfall is situated in the West jaintia Hills in Meghalaya near Umlārem. Krangsuri is 5.8 km away from Umlārem.  Road trip with friends on bike was the most desired wish I have ever had. But due to sufficient time and lack of opportunity it was just a dream.  But in the month of June, 2019 I have decided to effectuate my road trip fantasy . It was 2nd Saturday and my office was closed and I decided to visit Krangsuri  & Phi Phi falls  the beautiful water fall with mesmerizing views with one of my best friend partha. We had started our journey on bike in the early morning after having breakfast. From Guwahati it was around 185 km  to reach our destination. We had drove around 65 km and the whether becomes rainy. We had to stopped  near a roadside
